This year’s tobacco earnings have hit 140 million US dollars from sales involving 85 million kilogrammes of the leaf.
Market administrators, AHL Group officials are meanwhile projecting brighter days in the remaining weeks owing to quality leaf that is being supplied at the floors.
According to AHL Spokesperson, Teresa Ndanga, tobacco prices during the week have been averaging 1dollar 64 cents per kilogramme.
